The ChampNathan Maisey
Nathan has a positive and casual demeanor which allows him to offer practical advice for everyday businesses in a way they actually understand. From time to time you‘ll even catch him in a tee-shirt. He prides himself in not being a “typical accountant” and you’ll realise this as soon as you meet him. His experience over the last 12 years has ranged from SME business advisory to corporate level accounting, so he has a wealth of knowledge to call upon.
The ChiefPeter Harris
Peter once dreamt of being an All Black: “There’s still a chance,” he says. Passionate about sport he is also just as passionate about enabling clients’ success. We consider his technical ability a pretty big strength and his casual but professional approach means he is able to portray typically boring accounting jargon in a way that business owners understand and from this he helps them formulate plans for the future.
The BFGRory McKenzie
Rory is a Fully Qualified CA with over 10 years experience, he’s worked with a wide range of people over the years and really enjoys creating that personal relationship we believe you should have with your trusted advisors.
As smart as he is tall; he‘s a relaxed, patient and friendly guy to come in and chat with. Rory has a keen interest in technology so is happy to help with your IT problems or decision making. He has two BFG’s in training which keep him busy but in the downtime he enjoys most sports; especially Football (the one where you only kick it with your foot).
The AdvisorAbbey Boobyer

Abbey’s easy going nature makes her a pleasure to be around. Laughter can always be heard from her meetings, sometimes we wonder if there is more fun than work going on but ultimately, she just makes accounting fun!
The SenseiSarah Wong
Sarah is a self-confessed nerd, with a serious passion for numbers. So much so that she started her career as a maths teacher at a local high school! Mona Cullen
Mona is a Chartered Accountant and has been working in accounting since 2014.
She fell in love with accounting as it gave her the opportunity to help people with their businesses and build great relationships with them. Something we the team here can resonate with!
In her free time, you can catch Mona chasing her daughter around the netball court or fishing with her husband!
The SupporterWendy Smith
Wendy plays the role of admin support, grandmother and all round great gal! Wendy’s main role here at MHCo is admin support and she does everything from booking meetings with clients to requesting data for year end financial statements.
She has a wealth of admin experience to call on and loves being efficient and professional. Outside of work her grandchildren take priority, but when shes not hanging out with them she loves to clean, drink fine wine and pamper her 12 year old cat Moochi.
Katrina Soepnel
Say hi to Katrina, or, Kat works too!
Katrina is currently transitioning into the role of Client Services Manager here at MHCO. She is filling the big shoes of Dianne who is retiring at the end of this year.
Katrina is Waikato born and bred but has traveled all over Europe, USA, Canada and most recently moved back from Perth.
She has a very unique background in both accounting and marketing, and is an administrator extraordinaire! Her passion for helping clients and easy-going attitude means she is going to take this new role in her stride.
We are so excited to have Kat on board. Make sure to introduce yourself next time you’re in the office, she will be the one greeting you and offering you a tea or coffee on arrival!
the BoomerangDaniel Honiss
A big welcome (back) to Daniel Honiss! Daniel joined us last year as a summer intern before returning to University to finish the final year of his accounting degree. He had been accepted into a graduate program at one of the Big 4 accounting firms but just like a boomerang he couldn’t help but come back!
We’re pumped Daniel instead chose to take on the full-time position of Graduate Accountant here at MHCO! Daniel is going to be focusing on GST returns so expect to hear from him around GST time and make sure you say hi when you come into the office next (hint: he’s the other tall one!).
the RedheadBrittney Benn
We’re very excited to introduce Brittney Benn! After opening the Tauranga office in June 2019 and Matt being a one-man band on the ground in Tauranga (with support from the Hamilton office) the team is now growing! We’ve taken on Brittney as an accountant, increasing the Tauranga team to two!
Britt was previously working for a firm in Hamilton but wanted to make the move to Tauranga to be closer to the beach (we can’t blame her!), so when the role came up, she jumped on it!
Describing herself as “bubbly, fiery and never saying no to a beveragino”, we’re excited to have her as the latest addition to our MHCO Family!
The Head of SecurityArchy Maisey
Archy can be found at the door, eagerly waiting to greet anyone who walks in, or, looking for someone to join him for a stroll around the block. When he is not busy on security he doubles as the Head of Morale. With his constant happy and excited nature he is a very important part of our MHCo family.
He can’t wait to greet you all on your next visit to see us!
